Is that Bacon or Foreskin?

The past few days were very stressful.  Though our trips have been great, we all had to study for our first unit test.  There is a work hard-party hard philosophy at HSI.  We took the unit test early thursday morning, and everyone was dog tired (from the massive study sesh from the night before).  Finally when the exam was over we headed to the beach.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon after a big test.   At the beach we played a little pick up ultimate Frisbee game.  We hustled the miami kids and got them to play Minnesota verse.  They had a rude awakening to see that we were quite skilled in that area.  After the game we finally got a girl named Talia ( Matt's new girlfriend) to come out into the sea past her belly button. It was a great time at the beach and we were ready to get out of there.  Our next stop was non other then Tel Aviv.  We went there to attend a big party called "White night" which was a big dance party where everyone used headphones. We got to Tel Aviv and we all raced to get our favorite ice coffee from Aroma. After we ate at a burger joint. As we were ordering Adam jokingly asked for a cheeseburger, but to our surprise the guy responded and asked if we wanted bacon with it. We enjoyed our non kosher bacon cheeseburgers in the middle of the holy land.   Following this, we headed to the book store to find cool hebrew books.  Adam went crazy!  I am pretty sure we came out of that store with ten books.  I guess he is turing into his brother Gabe.  When Adam was looking for "The Hunger Games" brett and I were on a mission.  We went straight to the hebrew magazines to find some (interesting reading material).  We got a great magazine about how to save the environment.  The ladies in the mag were very inspirational and we all liked them a lot.  Our night turned out great!  The party was crazy and we got some good pictures of us "getting down".  Alrighty we have to fly, till next time.  We give you love in our best posts.  From our computer to yers.

"Yes, I'm a pure blood Jew!"

Today, we arose early at the youth hostel to see the great surprise of some of our USY friends just getting into the great land of Moshe. Shortly after we quickly loaded the busses and were off to study in the land of david and go through the outstanding caves. These caves were very interesting but a little claustrophobic. While in the tunnel our dorm decided to sing a variety of different tunes to pass the time, because the cave took us like one hour to go through due to some traffic of the 100 orthodox girls in front of us who had some issues because they were wearing those gosh darn skirts. Anyways, some kids in particular got a little annoyed with Adams "Cantor like" voice and asked him nicely to refrane from singing, Which just made Adam sing more and more and more and more.... After the long exausting walk though the dark tunnels we got on the bus and were off to the Kotel. We absolutely loved the Kotel, but we are not going to lie it was a little overwhelming, with all the orthodox Alter cockers begging for money while some guy with a beard is putting t'fillin on me and asking me if both of my parents are jewish. After the Kotel we hopped on the bus and headed towards Ben Yehuda street for our first "D.O.T.S (Dinner. On. The. Streets). We ate some delicious shwarma and did a little shopping but then it was time to go. Not to really to much more to say, so until next time......

P.S We forgot to mention that in the middle of this mishegoss are madrichim went to the market and made us Market Lunch, which was absolutely delicious.

"Guitos" and Gilboa

As the week came to an end, we went on our first two day trip.  The first activity was hiking up Mt. Gliboa.  It was easy for all the florida kids, especially the "Guitos", to hike up the mountain due to all the mountains in florida, NOT.  The highest they have ever climbed is to the second story of their local mall.  There is really nothing better then the stench of our Israeli staff half way up the mountain.  We finally made it up the mountain and we were happy to rest. We stopped at the peak of the mountain to take some photos.  I hope you like the picture of us taking a leak off the cliff.  That one was our favorite.  After the long trek of climbing the mountain we needed to cool off.  We jumped on the bus and headed to the natural springs to get a swim.  It was great let me tell you, admiring all the israeli women basically wearing a extra small dish rag on their boobs.  There was many different water falls to explore.  It seemed to be a great hang out spot for the arabs.  The mom, grandma, sister, brother, father, uncle, yup, they were all there.  The water was crystal clear and full of small fish.  The Israeli's say "it real good for you, the fish eat all da dead skin from you feet".  Since Adam is scared of fish we heard a few girls cries here and there. Right after the incredible natural water springs it was time for us to pack up and continue our journey to the youth hostile for the night in Jerusalem. Adam and Brett were in one Hostile and Matt was in the other one. In the Hostile, we had the most amazing view from our balcony's, but by the time we realized how beautiful it was we were about to pass out from our long journey that day. Stay tuned for our next great adventure!
